About me

My first experience of providing first aid was whilst working as a deckhand on a trawler in 1971. I then did a basic adult first aid course! A few years later, I qualified as a Mountain Leader and gained the (pioneering) ‘Ieuan Jones Mountain First Aid’ qualification. Other mountain & Outdoor Activity first aid qualifications followed, including becoming a First Aid Instructor. Many of these years were spent at Plas y Brenin, providing Mountain Leader courses and first aid / mountain rescue training. Moving on many years, and I set up my own first aid  training business and gained a Training Provider license from the Health & Safety Executive. Over some 35 years of providing first aid training, both my experience and interests have broadened. I take pleasure at being offered both standard and mind-stretching commissions, for people working in challenging and hazardous environments - in both the UK and abroad. Clients on my list include: Police (Firearms) UK Military & Combined Cadet Forces Schools & Colleges Charities Duke of Edinburgh Award, Scouts, Guides British Geological Survey Powerline companies Construction Industry Forestry workers and Arboriculturalists Forest School Practitioners Blind Veterans UK The Bloodhound Project - UK Land Speed Record. We live in the Vale of Clwyd, north Wales. A beautiful and perfect location for walking our German Shepherd - Layla, and enjoying the many prehistoric sites. My other interests involve Medieval Re-enactment & Living History demonstrations - with our group Marcher Freemen. Tiring and challenging, but a great way to de- stress. Health Care and Wellbeing is very much a family trait.
