First Aid for Re-enactors &

Historical Demonstrators

These courses are run for both Re-enactors and persons working at historic properties, or staging a public event - such as the annual Battle of Tewkesbury re-enactment. Training is usually done during a single - intensive - day. This is an assessed course. Certification - including the HSE Emergency First Aid at Work Qulaification - lasts for 3 years. The standard firstaid core skills form the foundation. However, these are considerably enhanced to consider the very special risks associated with re-enactments of all time periods …… Accident procedures Advice of task-specific firstaid kits Infections - avoidance and recognitio Incidents, legalities & RIDDOR Accidents within camps Enhanced casualty assessment Woundings by swords, polearms, bayonette etc. Facial injuries. Spinal and other injuries to bones & joints Deep bruisings Blast and burn injuries Injuries involving horses ……… All courses based upon the HSE Emergency First Aid at Work,  and include training in the use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator),“the Management of Catastrophic Bleeding” (Haemostatics - and where relevant, Tourniquets. Whatever your requirement, appropriate training can be supplied.
